Michael J. Giron was made the namesake for an award which was created in 2012 by the athletic staff and alumni of BHS, the “Never Give Up” Award. This video is his address to his family, friends and athletic peers and mentors in which he acknowledges, honors and thanks those who made his successes in sports and life possible.

K9 Police dogs are cool! The setting is the Sonoma County K9 Dog Trials in Santa Rosa, CA. It answers many questions we all have about the nature and training of these “crime fighters” and the touching relationships between dog and handler.

The 117th annual Santa Rosa Rose Parade was a 5 camera shoot. [2 stationary cams on platforms, 2 roaming and 1 talent cam. ] It was your typical parade complete with all the craziness! We also had a live stream going to a couple different sites.

The Beat: Sounds from the Underground ~Promo~
“The Beat: Sounds from the Underground” features local Sonoma County bands who were recorded live to tape in the studio. On many shows I shot interviews which were mixed post production into the set. I taped the interviews, edited the show and usually authored the DVD and designed the artwork. We had an average crew of 15 volunteers and ran 5-6 cameras. The use of volunteers was deliberate. The purpose was to advance an important aspect of the mission of the show: to train media center members in studio production. We had skill levels from beginners to experienced and everyone pitched in. The crew made improvements with video, sound, lighting and general organization with each new production. It was a really fun show to do – all the crew had a great time! They must have because the show retained most of the original volunteers from show # 1 and continued to recruit new CMC members until its final show. (Maybe it was the Thai food in the canteen?)

Shine
I hosted a fun little show at CTN called SHINE! It was a blast to do! I was thrown into it almost by accident! I was volunteering at the station and the show producer, who happened to be taking a few of the same college courses as me, talked me into auditioning. Next thing I know, I’m on TV. Well, sometimes that’s how it happens! As I said, it was a lot of fun and gave me some excellent experience.

Eating Vegan Raw – The Raw Food Trend
The raw food trend, the practice of consuming unprocessed, whole plant-based, ideally organic foods, exploded in the US around 2004. In this joint I learn how to open a coconut! I also attend a raw food potluck which was yummy! Watch to see why some believe eating their food “raw” or uncooked is the healthiest way to live.
